Star Pirates
Star Pirates is basically the older brother to Spy Battles. Both games are put out by Snakehead Games and even started with the same game engine. Even though they have been moving away from each other since creation (roughly 9 months ago), there are still many similarities.
Most of the differences are on the negative side in my opinion. You spend more time in the hospital (or shipyard as they call it) than you do in Spy Battles, the shoutbox is completely filled with roleplayers (which can be a positive or a negative) and the various ships give less research points than their SB counterparts.
There are some positives however. You can equipment more items than in SB, you don’t have the specific slot requirements on your items, and gear is cheaper overall because more of everything has been found.
Because the game has been around for longer than SB, there is a large number of players, both inactive and active. Overall its a pretty good game, ranked just below its little brother.

The game is initially fun to play for a text based game – 8/10
Problem begins as it takes longer and longer to move up levels – 6/10
The large amount of Upper Levels (level 40) are totally invulnerable to any attack from lower levels (your stats are 2,000 for attack and their’s are 20,000+ avg.).
Combat System 1/10
The main problem is the Upper Levels are full of bullies who delight in onlining (puts player in shipyard for up to 12 minutes where they are very limited in what they can do, esp. the ones with limited cash). You get 1 hourly search per hour to find cash and items (based on level). The bullies love to online players at the hourly to delay their searches. 0/10
Admin does not seem to care and there are a lot of players who quit because of this.
Searches are based on level so a new player may have 10 chances, while higher levels have 70 +. Guess who finds nearly all the valuable items. 2/10
Game was fun for 1st couple of months, but invest your time and RL cash elsewhere.
