Dino-RPG

Little prehistoric creatures beating the living daylights out of each other.

In this action-a-day game, you take the role of a Dino Master (think Pokemon trainer) with 20k gold to buy you’re first Dino. There are a few to choose from, and nothing to show you which Dinos are the best. All you have to go on are a few stats and maybe a skill. After you choose and name you’re first Dino, you start running around Dinotown beating up mushrooms and meeting some weird characters.

The game does get better than it sounds though, when you’re Dinos level up. Every level one of the five elements (fire, wood, water, lightning, air) is rolled by a RNG. You then get to pick a new skill to make your Dino stronger. Each element has 3 choices when you first role it. Each skill you get unlocks one or more two skill later on. The catch however it that before you can choose skills you’ve unlocked, you have to use your level up to unlock them for use. Choosing skills is the biggest strategy part of the game because there are over 130 skills and the max level is currently set around 50. Some clans offer guides on how to level up your Dino by giving you pictures of the entire skill tree for each element and descriptions of what each skill does.

One of the biggest issues I have with this game is the health control. Even the strongest Dinoz will most likely lose a hitpoint or two every fight. You do have the option of having the Dino rest and regain 1 HP per hour (some skills increase the heal rate) but the Dino can only rest up to 50% of his max HP (100HP is the starting base).  The only way to heal your Dino higher than that is to spend gold buying items to heal him. This isn’t a good idea early on, because you’ll want to save up to buy more Dinoz (you can have 18 Dinoz under your control at the beginning).

Overall, the game is fairly slow at the beginning, but it becomes pretty good once you have a half-dozen or so Dinoz. Missions and Clan Wars help make the end-game fun and there are ways to control more Dinoz or even get some of the super powerful Demon Dinoz.

I like this game as one of my casual web games. I like how the clan wars are conducted so that weaker members can still participate through gathering or signing up for a time slot to help manage the defense. It’s nice for a little 15 minute distraction once a day. Definitely gotta get through the initial low level, low # dino phase which can be helped some if you spend a little money near the beginning.

I currently have the 18 dino limit. I would like to buy more but am unable to. Do I have to unlock anything or complete a quest to be able to have over 18 dinos? Or is 18 the max?

    feedback welcome

There is a quest completion to get an extra three slots. Also, once you get far enough to reach all of the areas, you will have an option to “freeze” your Dinos. Frozen Dinos can’t move or take any action, but they don’t count towards your limit. Also, if you have done the cemetery missions, you can take them to the Demon Shop and trade your Dinos for tickets that can be used to buy Demon Dinos (more tickets for a higher level Dino sacrificed).
